Fifteen years ago, long before Fulton Brewing had made its mark, a single moment of inspiration struck while CEO and Co-Founder, Ryan Petz, was driving in a beat-up '93 Ford Taurus. Guns N’ Roses was playing, and as the opening riff of "Sweet Child of Mine" filled the car, it hit: "Sweet Child of Vine." No IPA had been brewed yet, but the name was born — a perfect nod to both the iconic song and the hops that would eventually define Fulton's most beloved beer. What started as a homebrew dream quickly became a reality, and Sweet Child of Vine was the first beer Fulton ever sold. Fast forward, and it’s now one of Minnesota’s favorite IPAs.
At Sun Country, we love a good story — especially when it’s tied to local legends like our friends at Fulton Brewing. That’s why in March 2019, we proudly brought Fulton on board, offering travelers a taste of Minnesota craftsmanship in the skies. It was a natural fit. From the beginning, we've shared a commitment to quality and the community, delivering something special with every flight. In fact, on average, we go through more than a pallet of Fulton each month, a testament to how much our passengers love it.
Whether you're heading off to an exciting destination or making your way back home, we invite you to enjoy Sweet Child of Vine on your next flight. After all, who wouldn’t want to sip on one of the most popular IPAs in the state while cruising at 35,000 feet? It’s just another way we bring a little bit of home on board — because great stories (and great beer) are worth sharing, no matter where you’re headed.
