This week, we brought back one of our favorite traditions: our employee food truck fest and airplane pull. It’s a day that unites employees, partners, and the community in celebration, teamwork, and giving back.

The airplane pull took center stage as teams joined forces to move a Sun Country aircraft, all to benefit Make-A-Wish Minnesota and help grant life-changing wishes for kids across the state. Alongside the pull, employees gathered for the return of the food truck fest, featuring eight food trucks, opportunities to connect with Sun Country’s community partners, and special guest appearances from Mudonna of the St. Paul Saints and PK from Minnesota United.

When it came time to pull the plane, the competition heated up. Nearly 400 participants from 22 teams took on the challenge of moving a Boeing 737-800 weighing over 100,000 lbs. Each team pulled the plane 50 feet, with the fastest finishers coming in at:

  1. 1st place: Pilots (15:41 seconds)

  2. 2nd place: Castlelake (16.50 seconds)

  3. 3rd place: Ramp Camp (16.90 seconds)

Fundraising totals were equally inspiring. The executive leadership team raised $43,712, while overall funds for Make-A-Wish Minnesota topped more than $100,000. Every dollar supports wishes that bring joy and hope to children across our community.

As General Counsel Rose Neale shared, “Our partnership with Make-A-Wish Minnesota is one of the most meaningful ways we come together as a Sun Country community, and the plane pull is one of the events we love the most. Seeing our employees and partners rally around this cause is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we unite for something bigger than ourselves. I couldn’t be prouder of the dedication and heart our team shows year after year.”

As the event wrapped up, one thing was clear—our annual airplane pull and food truck fest has grown into something extraordinary. It’s not just about the fun or the food. It’s about coming together, lifting each other up, and making an impact that lasts far beyond the day. We can’t wait to see you again next year, ready to pull, cheer, and celebrate for a great cause.
