This summer, 23 interns from across the country joined our internship program for 10 weeks of hands-on learning, professional growth and a front-row seat to the aviation industry.

From ground operations and safety to accounting and finance, each intern stepped into real work that made an impact from day one. They tackled meaningful projects, explored their departments and discovered how their talents fit into the bigger picture of running an airline. Along the way, they stretched their skills, stepped outside their comfort zones and built connections that will last well beyond the summer.

Ruhaan, a ground operations intern, said, “The large scope that ground operations covers created multiple learning experiences throughout the internship. It taught me to be flexible, pay attention to details, learn leadership skills and communicate clearly.”

Learning wasn’t limited to the desk or the hangar. Our “Beyond the Wing” lunch-and-learn series gave interns a behind-the-scenes look at different departments, while coffee chats with company leaders sparked conversations about career journeys, professional growth, and life at Sun Country. Workshops focused on communication and connection gave interns the tools to thrive in any workplace.

Isabel, an inflight training intern, summed it up best: “I really enjoyed my time as an intern with Sun Country. I got to experience the aviation industry while gaining skills in collaboration, safety and adaptability. I learned so much this summer and can't wait to take my knowledge on my career journey.”

Some of the summer’s most memorable moments happened during immersive experiences like intern aviation day. From marshaling aircraft and loading baggage to exploring the maintenance hangar, interns got a first-hand look at the critical operations that keep flights moving. A day learning about our charter service opened the door to understanding the planning, coordination, and care that goes into every charter flight—an important part of our business model.

By the time August rolled around, our interns had gained more than industry knowledge. They left with sharpened skills, new perspectives, and the confidence to bring what they’ve learned into their next chapter.

Our 2025 internship program was about more than learning aviation, it was about building careers. To learn more about opportunities at Sun Country Airlines, visit our careers page.
