With more than 2,000 attendees and volunteers, Girls in Aviation Day 2024, hosted by Stars of the North, is once again the largest event of its kind in the world. This year also marked the event’s 10th anniversary.
Stars of the North, the Minneapolis Chapter of Women in Aviation International, works to increase female participation in aviation and aerospace through education, networking, and community service.
The purpose of Girls in Aviation Day is to introduce young kids, especially girls, to an industry that still sees disproportionate representation in its career field. The event showcases the wonders of aviation through STEM activities, aircraft displays, exhibitor booths, networking opportunities, and photo ops.
Our employees representing pilots, ramp agents, marketing and flight operations were there to chat with aspiring aviators and talk about their career path. We had a wonderful time interacting with our local community and look forward to more events with Stars of the North in the near future.
