Stars of the North, the Minnesota Chapter of Women in Aviation International, hosts their annual Girls in Aviation Day each September. The event, aimed at inspiring the next generation of female aviators, is held at Flying Cloud Airport (Jetlinx Campus) in Eden Prairie, MN. Girls in Aviation Day features numerous aircraft displays, hands-on aerospace-themed STEM activities, and various exhibitors from around the industry showcasing careers in the aviation field. The event is completely free and open to people of all ages.
Sun Country Airlines is a proud sponsor of Girls in Aviation Day and continues to support the important initiatives of Stars of North. This past year, Sun Country had representatives on hand from in-flight, engineering, flight operations, station operations, maintenance, and safety. Employees got the opportunity to answer questions from attendees and share their experience working in aviation.
