At Sun Country, we don’t just talk about the future of aviation; we’re actively investing in it. This week, our CEO, Jude Bricker, spoke at Minnetonka High School about working in aviation and the opportunities available at our airline. He took questions from students, sharing insights into the exciting paths young people can take toward careers in aviation. While our involvement with Minnetonka is still growing, this event was a great example of how we’re starting to engage with local schools and inspire the next generation of aviation professionals.

Jude isn’t alone in supporting the school. Our Talent Acquisition team member, Lindsey, has been actively involved with Minnetonka High School for the past two years, serving on their Aviation Program Advisory Board. During semi-annual meetings, she provides valuable insights on the program's growth, areas for expansion, and how to best prepare students for careers in aviation.

Lindsey has also been part of industry panels at the school's open house, sharing her knowledge to drive interest in aviation. Last spring, she organized a Sun Country Day at Minnetonka, where she brought together a panel of our employees to speak directly with aviation students, showcasing the diverse career opportunities in the industry.

“It’s these kinds of direct, impactful interactions that help build bridges between education and real-world careers, ensuring that students don’t just dream about flying but are given the tools and mentorship they need to get there,” said Lindsey.

This effort is part of a broader initiative to foster talent and leadership in the aviation field. We’re already working with organizations like STARBASE MN, MN ACE Camp, and Stars of the North (the Minnesota chapter of Women in Aviation) to introduce young students, including those from underrepresented communities, to the endless possibilities in aviation. We’re helping to pave the way for the next generation of pilots, engineers, flight attendants, mechanics, and even aviation business leaders.

“It’s about more than just filling positions. As a Minnesota-based airline, we take pride in our community and its potential. Our commitment goes beyond hiring—it’s about investing in local talent and providing opportunities for young people to thrive in aviation. The next generation is full of promise, and we’re excited to help them take flight,” Jude said.

This is just the beginning. As we continue to build these relationships and invest in the future, the sky's the limit. Visit our career site to explore opportunities and discover what life is like at Sun Country Airlines.
